Lumineers

Do you love the look of veneers, but can’t commit to the idea of having your teeth filed down in preparation? Then Lumineers (otherwise known as no-prep veneers) could be just the solution for you.

Reveal your new smile

Lumineers work in a similar way to veneers in that they cover your teeth in hard-wearing, long-lasting, ultra-thin porcelain that is shaped to give an amazing new smile.

A beautiful solution

Lumineers could be the right choice for you if you’d like to solve any of the following issues:

  • Gaps between your teeth
  • Discoloured teeth
  • Broken, cracked or chipped teeth
  • Misshapen and crooked teeth
  • Teeth that have been damaged or worn down by bruxism (teeth grinding and jaw clenching)
  • A combination of problems

Lumineers can be used for treatment of a single tooth or several at once to create a dramatic transformation. The results use state-of-the-art colour match technology to ensure the Lumineers perfectly match your existing teeth and give you a gorgeous, natural look.

Benefits

  • Exceptionally strong patented Cerinate porcelain
  • Super thin structures that provide more natural results and a better fit
  • Minimal tooth preparation, leaving your teeth intact
  • No drills, needles or anaesthetics needed
  • The tooth/teeth below remain protected
  • Totally reversible procedure
  • Virtually pain-free
  • Long-lasting

Fitting Lumineers is relatively straightforward and typically takes much less time than veneers, although this depends on people’s individual needs and their treatment plans.

Some people will require additional treatments either before or after their Lumineers have been fitted in order to achieve the results they desire. This typically includes procedures such as composite bonding, whitening or orthodontics. If you are having a straightforward treatment, then the full process can be achieved in as little as just two appointments.

We’ll start off with a consultation to understand what you’d like to achieve and to take you through your available options. We’ll then conduct a detailed examination and take impressions to ensure that Lumineers are suitable for you.

Using the latest dental technology, we’ll then map out the structure of your teeth to help create your bespoke Lumineers. Made by highly-skilled dental technicians, your Lumineers use colour match technology to complement and enhance your smile.

Once your Lumineers are ready, they can be set in place using minimal etching, filing or preparation.

FAQs

Is the process of fitting Lumineers painful?

Lumineers are ultra-thin and applied directly to the surface of the teeth. In most cases, Lumineers fit perfectly without the need for numbing or grinding of the natural teeth. The process is pain-free, and most patients say their Lumineers feel completely natural from the very first moment.

How long do Lumineers last?

Lumineers can potentially last over 20 years if cared for properly. This is twice as long as the normal lifespan of traditional veneers.

Can I have my Lumineers removed if I decide I no longer want them?

Yes. The process is completely reversible, as there are no changes to the underlying tooth structure.

Am I a suitable candidate for Lumineers?

As with all dental treatments, this depends on you, your individual needs and the issues you’d like to solve. Lumineers can be a great treatment option for a range of dental issues, and we are happy to discuss your options with you.
